NYC 50 Day Series: Intro
Welcome to the NYC 50 Day Yoga Challenge! From the Brooklyn Bridge to China Town to the West Side Highway, each 30-minute workout was shot on the on the streets of downtown New York City. Each day brings a new focus, with an emphasis on strength, balance, core, stamina & flexibility, giving you the kick in the ass when you need it and a little TLC when we've pushed it to the limit.
NYC Series Day 2: Strength
In Day 2 of the series we focus on strength, specifically upper body strength. After a short warmup we get right to it, looking for both strength and stability in the arms, shoulders & chest. The HIIT drills in this class are challenging, so pace yourself and do what you can. Oh, and I sprinkle a few arm balances in like Crow to lighten things up a little :)
NYC Series Day 3: Flexibility
Shot in a pool on the lower eat side (really) Day 3 is our first focus on flexibility. We ease into things, warming our bodies up, and then hit the usual suspects; hips, hamstrings, quads, shoulders & back. I try to make it as fun as I can, but truth is, building flexibility kinda hurts in the moment. If it didn't we'd all be flexible :)
NYC Series Day 4: Strength
Welcome to Day 4! This had to have been the craziest shoot I had while filming this whole series. I didn't know it when I started, but the police were setting up a barricade blocking traffic. When all was said and done there were close to 50 cops all around me, I'm not sure how I managed to finish. Enjoy.
NYC Series Day 5: Core
Day 5 and our first core-focused workout of the NYC 50 Day Yoga Series. Shot in an alley in NOHO where I used to party back in the day (you know before you have kids), this class is a great introduction to building strength and stability in the middle of our bodies. We start on our hands and knees, warming things up with cat/cow and then dive in. As you make your way through core-focused workouts, definitely listen to your back, when things maybe feel like too much. While I'm always pushing you to work harder, when our core is the focus I also offer out several modifications for when things are too difficult. This is a great into class to core.
